During well child check-ups, we monitor growth and development, address health-related questions, and provide a framework for providing immunizations to protect children from serious infectious disease.
We recommend check-ups for infants at 2 weeks; at 2, 4, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, 24 months, and (in some cases) 30 months. After infancy, we recommend check-ups at 2, 3, 4, and 5 years.
We recommend at least one check-up every other year during elementary school years (every year if parents desire) and every year during adolescence.
Please understand that you or your child will not always leave the appointment with a prescription for a medication as we take very seriously our duty to prescribe judiciously, in particular with reference to antibiotics.
Most vaccines administered in our office are provided by the Vermont Department of Health.
We provide in-hospital care of term and late preterm newborns as well as care of patients needing admission to the hospital (other than those needing care in the Intensive Care Unit).
Though counseling services are not available in office, we maintain relationships with and refer to pediatric-trained therapists in the surrounding region.
